With so many versions of the Kindle available, it’s easy to be overwhelmed when it comes to making an E-Reader decision.  An E-Reader is a great investment, but you want to make an educated choice when purchasing to ensure that you use it to it’s full potential.

Most of the Kindle models come with two options:  With Special Offers and Without Special Offers.  When you purchase a Kindle without special offers, your screen saver will show sketches of authors.  This model is more expensive than a model with special offers.  The special offers model is identical to the previous, but displays advertisements as the screen saver.  You will also receive exclusive discounts, such as gift cards, coupon codes, and discounted Kindle books.  (I wouldn’t hesitate at all to buy the With Special Offers version.)

Some models offer a 3G or Wifi version.  The Wifi version must be connected to a wireless network or plugged directly into a computer to upload books.  The 3G version comes with lifetime, free, internet access so that there is no need to connect to a network.
